Frequently Asked Questions

What will the inspection cover?

Your professional home inspection and report will meet all applicable requirements in the State of Wisconsin Statues and comply with a well recognized industry Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics for home inspectors.

How long does the inspection take?

The on-site inspection time for an average single family home ranges from 3 to 4 hours. This depends on the size, age, and condition of the structure.

Do I have to be present at the inspection?

Although we highly encourage our customers to be there, the choice is yours. There are benefits to attending the inspection, or at least the second half.  This can reduce the number of questions clients have after reading the completed report and increase their understanding of noteworthy conditions of the home.

What things are inspected?

Roof and flashings, attic, ventilation, insulation, gutters and downspouts, basement or crawlspace, foundation, grading, driveways and sidewalks, siding and trim, doors and windows, ceilings, floors, walls, chimney, appliances, electrical system, water heater, plumbing system, heating and air conditioning systems.

When will I get a copy of the inspection report?

You will receive your detailed electronic report as an email attachment (.pdf) file shortly after the inspection is completed. Your report is kept confidential and is distributed to others only by your direction.

How much does the inspection cost?

Our prices start at $250 for a small single family home and increase from there based on square footage of the building. Our average price is $275 for most inspections.
